OVHcloud
French hosting and cloud provider: virtual private servers, dedicated servers, storage and domain names. VPS start at €3.81 excl. VAT a month for 2 vCores, 4 GB of RAM and 40 GB of NVMe SSD, with unlimited traffic and daily backup.
A hosting provider rents hardware, networks and data centers: that cannot be coded. To reduce dependence you can change provider (Hetzner, Scaleway) or, for a small site, use static hosting. Staying with a European provider can matter for data subject to the GDPR. At this price, a VPS is already the cheapest way to host your own tools.
What you lose
- Data centers, network and hardware
