Oaky
Upselling software for hotels: offers before arrival (Pre-Stay Upsell), at the front desk (Front Desk Upsell) and during the stay (In-Stay Upsell, by QR code or messaging), with guest segmentation, reports, multi-property management and a library of more than 100 offers. Two-way connections with the PMS; pricing is not public.
The core is simple: an email sent a few days before arrival, with three offers (room upgrade, breakfast, late checkout) and a payment link. A script fed by an export of your reservations is enough for a small hotel. What takes work: reading reservations automatically from your PMS, posting accepted offers to the guest's bill and taking payment online. Without that, someone re-keys each sale by hand.

Existing alternatives to Oaky
No free or open-source alternative currently meets our checks (active project under a free licence, free plan read on the vendor’s own site). Rather than invent one, the list stays empty.
What a home-built tool costs once it exists
- Hosting and database: a server cost, and automatic backups you actually test.
- Security and GDPR: dependency updates, an HTTPS certificate, protection of your customers’ data.
- Upkeep time: who fixes the tool on a Saturday night in the middle of service if the server goes down?
The prompt to build it yourself
Build a small tool that emails my guests 5 days before arrival to offer extras, replacing an upselling software. Context: a 20-room hotel; I can export my reservations from the PMS as CSV (name, email, dates, room type, language). To do: - Read the CSV and select arrivals in 5 days that have an email address and a recorded marketing consent. - Send an HTML email in the guest's language with 3 offers I define in an offres.json file (name, price, short text, Stripe payment link). - Log every send in a SQLite database so the same guest is never emailed twice. - List the clicked offers in a report, to post by hand on the bill. - An unsubscribe link in every email. Out of scope: automatic PMS reading, posting sales to the bill, offers during the stay. Stack: Python, SQLite, sending through my provider's SMTP (credentials in .env, never in the repository).
