Payment terminals and collection services for businesses: myPOS Go 2, Flex, Ultra (Android with printer), Glass (Tap to Pay on a smartphone) and Sigma (kiosks). Payment and e-money services are provided by myPOS Ltd, an e-money institution licensed in Ireland and regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Pay-as-you-go or monthly plan; pricing is on a dedicated page, not recorded.

A terminal is approved hardware tied to a payment institution: neither can be built. What can be coded around it is your sales tracking. Note that a terminal takes the card without keeping your sales register on its own: if you record your sales in point-of-sale software, that software is what must meet the French rules on retention and tamper-proofing of data. Compare on per-transaction fees and hardware cost.

What you lose

  • Approved payment hardware.
  • Card acceptance by a regulated institution.
  • Tap to Pay on a smartphone.

Existing alternatives to myPOS

No free or open-source alternative currently meets our checks (active project under a free licence, free plan read on the vendor’s own site). Rather than invent one, the list stays empty.
