Menupleaz
Digital menu as an alternative to the paper menu for restaurants, bars and hotels.
A simple digital menu, with no ordering or payment, remains one of the easiest tools to replace with a home-made page. At €14.90/month, the gain is small: the only real reason to build it is to control your presentation. A QR code menu has content obligations: prices including VAT and service, information on the 14 allergens (decree 2015-447), origin of meats. The order of 27 March 1987 also requires prices to be displayed so they are visible from outside: a QR code does not replace it, so keep a printed menu on display.
What you lose

The prompt to build it yourself
Build me a digital menu that replaces the paper menu for a restaurant, bar or hotel, for my restaurant in France. Stack: static site Astro (or Next.js), no database; the menu is described in a YAML file. Free or almost free hosting. To do: - A carte.yaml file describes the categories, dishes and drinks (name, description, price incl. VAT, allergens from the 14 official ones, meat origin if it is a meat dish). - Public page, mobile first, ultra fast, with one QR code per venue (QR generation as PNG and SVG, with margin for printing). - Prices are always shown incl. VAT and service. Each dish lists its allergens with readable pictograms, and a general notice explains how to get the detailed information. - Meat dishes state the origin (“origin: France” or “born and raised: …, slaughtered: …”). A “homemade” field can only be used if the dish meets the conditions of the label: include a warning in the file. - Instant update: I edit the file, push, and the menu is up to date within a minute. A sold-out dish is switched off with one line. - Several menus on the same site (lunch, dinner, drinks, hotel breakfast), each with its own QR code and display hours. - No telemetry, no third-party tracker, so no cookie banner to manage. Out of scope: order taking, payment, customer accounts. README: how to edit the menu, generate and print the QR code, deploy. State that the QR code does not replace the display of prices outside the venue, which the order of 27 March 1987 requires, and that a printed menu must stay on display as well.
