Linktree Pro

Replaceableeditor verdict · 0 votes

A single page to put in your social media bio, grouping all the important links of a person or brand.

This is the most obvious verdict in the catalogue: a static page, a list of buttons, possibly a click counter. An evening is enough, and hosting costs almost nothing. The only real gap: the editor for non-technical people.

What you lose

  • The visual drag-and-drop editor.
  • The ready-made statistics dashboard.
  • Hosting with nothing to manage.
  • Integrations (networks, newsletters, shops) that you probably weren't using.

Existing alternatives to Linktree Pro

Self-hosted alternative to Linktree with an editor, themes and click statistics, in a Docker stack.

  • LittleLinkOpen source

Open-source link page with more than 100 buttons in well-known brand colours.

  • CarrdFree

Three free one-page sites; the custom domain is still paid.

The prompt to build it yourself

Build me a link page for my bio, to replace Linktree.

To do:
- A single static page: avatar, name, short bio and a list of buttons read from a links.json file (title, url, optional emoji). Editing the JSON is how I update the page.
- A clean design, mobile first, with automatic dark mode (prefers-color-scheme) and a discreet hover. One HTML file with its CSS is enough, or Astro only if truly useful.
- Click tracking without a third-party service: each link goes through /go/:slug, which records a row locally (file or SQLite) then redirects with a 302. A /stats page protected by basic authentication (credentials in .env) shows clicks per link.
- Correct Open Graph tags and a generated share image, so the page looks good when shared.
- The deployment steps on a small server with Caddy or nginx.
