Ahrefs
Not replaceableeditor verdict · 0 votes
SEO platform built on very large web databases: backlinks, keywords, results pages and AI search.
Tracking your own keywords and auditing your site is a weekend, for a few euros of API. But Ahrefs sells an index of the web that it crawled itself: backlinks, keywords, history of results. No solo project reproduces it, and scraping Google directly leads to being blocked. Your tool replaces the dashboard, not the data.
What you lose
- The index of inbound links.
- Keyword and results-page databases.
- Historical data.
- The scale and freshness of the data.
- Competitor analysis and AI-powered search.
