Evoliz
French online invoicing and management software: quotes, invoices, deposits, purchases and expense reports, bank account sync, automatic reminders, dashboards. The vendor says an approved platform is included for the e-invoicing reform. Essentielle at €29 excl. VAT per month (€290 a year) and Avancée at €49 excl. VAT per month (€490 a year), extra user at €9 excl. VAT per month, 15-day trial.
A quote that becomes a numbered invoice, with VAT and a PDF, is an accessible project. But in France an invoice is a regulated document: continuous numbering, mandatory mentions, retention, and soon exchange through an approved platform under e-invoicing. A numbering mistake or a missing mention costs you in an inspection. Custom suits quotes and reminders; for the legal issuing of invoices, software that follows the regulation is safer.
What you lose
- Compliance with invoicing rules and the e-invoicing reform.
- Bank sync and matching with invoices.
- Automatic reading of purchase invoices (OCR).
- Automatic reminders for unpaid invoices.

What a home-built tool costs once it exists
- Hosting and database: a server cost, and automatic backups you actually test.
- Security and GDPR: dependency updates, an HTTPS certificate, protection of your customers’ data.
- Upkeep time: who fixes the tool on a Saturday night in the middle of service if the server goes down?
The prompt to build it yourself
Build a small tool for quotes and invoice reminders for my business, replacing part of an invoicing software. Context: freelancer, about 20 quotes a month. To do: - Clients and services stored (label, price excl. VAT, VAT rate). - A numbered quote with lines, discount, validity and a PDF in my branding. - A status (draft, sent, accepted, declined) and sending by email. - Tracking of due dates and reminders suggested at D+7 and D+15 that I approve before sending. - A CSV export for my accountant. Out of scope: the legal issuing of invoices and e-invoicing, bank sync, OCR. Invoices are still issued in software that complies with the regulation. Stack: web app, SQLite. README: how to run, backup, and a reminder not to issue legal invoices from this tool.
