Agicap
French cash-flow management and forecasting platform for small and medium businesses: bank account centralisation, forecasts, automatic reconciliation and categorisation.
A cash-flow forecast built from CSV exports of the bank (expected receipts and payments, projected balance) is easy to build. What you lose: the automatic connection to banks, categorisation and integrations with accounting software. For a small business with a single bank, replaceable; for several accounts, keep the tool.
What you lose
- Automatic connection to bank accounts
- Automatic categorisation and reconciliation
- Integrations with accounting software
- Forecasts over several horizons
Existing alternatives to Agicap
- Actual BudgetOpen source
Budgeting and account tracking software (MIT), self-hostable; no business cash flow forecasting.
- Firefly IIIOpen source
Self-hosted personal finance manager (AGPL): accounts, budgets, categories and rules.
- FavaOpen source
Web interface for plain-text double-entry accounting with Beancount (MIT), for people who like to keep numbers under control.
The prompt to build it yourself
Build me a cash-flow forecasting tool for a small business, without claiming to replace Agicap or do official accounting. Stack: Next.js, TypeScript, SQLite. Data at my place, secrets in .env, no telemetry. To do: - Import of CSV statements that I export myself from my bank, with duplicate detection. - Categorisation of entries by rules I define, and manual correction. - Expected receipts and payments (customer invoices to collect, recurring costs), with date and amount. - Projected balance curve over 3, 6 and 12 months, with an alert if the balance falls below a threshold I set. - Simple scenarios: what if a big customer pays 30 days late? - CSV export; single user; tests on the projected balance calculation; README with the limits. Out of scope: live bank connection, automatic reconciliation, accounting. Never state that the figures are accounting-accurate.
