Mitti

Partly replaceableOur view: worth studying depending on your use.free (paid plans from €21.38/month/user)casevibecode verdict · 0 votesPage updated on October 23, 2026 · Published by North Studio

Inspection and checklist platform for frontline teams (hospitality, warehouses, retail), which was called SafetyCulture before its August 2026 rename. Inspection templates, analytics, issue reporting and AI credits. Free plan for up to 10 users; Premium at $24 per user per month billed annually ($29 monthly). The pricing page is in English.

A checklist filled in on a phone, with photos and time stamps, can be built in a few days. The reference tool stands out through its template library, multi-site analytics and integrations, useful to a chain but rarely to a single restaurant. Note that the product is changing name and offer (insurance, hardware); check the free plan before comparing.

What you lose

  • The library of inspection templates.
  • Analytics and comparisons across several sites.
  • Access rights and single sign-on (SSO).
  • The built-in AI features.

Existing alternatives to Mitti

No free or open-source alternative currently meets our checks (active project under a free licence, free plan read on the vendor’s own site). Rather than invent one, the list stays empty.

What a home-built tool costs once it exists

  • Hosting and database: a server cost, and automatic backups you actually test.
  • Security and GDPR: dependency updates, an HTTPS certificate, protection of your customers’ data.
  • Upkeep time: who fixes the tool on a Saturday night in the middle of service if the server goes down?

The prompt to build it yourself

Build a checklist app for phones for my property, replacing an inspection tool.

Context: a hotel-restaurant; the head waiter and the housekeeper fill in inspections at opening and closing.

To do:
- Checklist templates (checkboxes, numeric answers, text field, photo) that I create in a modeles.json file.
- Filling in on a phone, including offline, with sync on reconnection.
- An issue report attached to a line of the checklist, with an owner and a due date.
- A dashboard: completed checklists, open issues, compliance rate per week.
- A time-stamped PDF export of an inspection.

Out of scope: ready-made template library, multi-site analytics, integrations.

Stack: PWA, SQLite. README: how to run, backup and how long to keep the inspections.
