Agendrix
Scheduling, time clocking and availability software for restaurant and hotel teams.
Scheduling, time clocking and availability can be rebuilt fairly quickly. What you lose is the tracking of labour law: overtime, rest between shifts, export to payroll, which change with the law and the collective agreement. Agendrix is a good example of what can be built in-house for the schedule, but not for the legal count.
What you lose
- The proven mobile app with notifications.
- Connections to payroll software.
- The vendor's support in French.
Existing alternatives to Agendrix
- KimaiOpen source
Free time tracking (AGPL-3.0), self-hostable, with a clock-in/clock-out mode; does not handle scheduling.
- PlanestoFree
Free restaurant schedules up to 10 employees, paid version from €9.90 excl. VAT/month; French vendor.
The prompt to build it yourself
Build me a scheduling, time-clocking and availability tool, for my venue, to replace a subscription. Stack: web app (Next.js or Node/Express) with SQLite, hosted on my small server, usable on phone and computer. No mandatory paid service, no telemetry. Core of the tool: - Schedule per position with weekly templates. - Availability declared by employees, shift swaps approved by the manager. - Time clocking from phone or a tablet at the entrance, with the gap between planned and actual hours. Requirements: - Weekly schedule by position and by shift, with drag and drop, copy of the previous week and publication to the teams. - Availability and leave requests entered by the employee, approved by the manager. - Configurable alerts: 11 h rest between two shifts, 10 h of work per day, weekly working time. Default values from the French Labour Code, to be adapted to the HCR collective agreement by my accountant. - CSV export of hours per employee and per period, for my accountant. - Employee data: role-based access (manager, employee), password or magic link, change log. Out of scope: payroll, DSN and geolocation of clocking. README: installation, backup, and a reminder that this tool is not payroll software and calculates no salary, no DSN, no DPAE, and that legal counts remain to be checked by my accountant.
